PR-40066_03 Siebel 7 Upgrade Scope / Why is this important? • Objectives: • Upgrade Siebel to a supported application • Upgrade Oracle database to current version • Deliver all existing user functionality with no degradation in performance • Scope: • Upgrade Siebel software v6.3 to v7.7 • Upgrade Oracle database 8i to 9i • Maintain all existing Siebel functionality from v6.3 • Maintain all existing functionality to interfaces (L*, Reports/Extracts, ETS (internal)) • Allow developers to more easily enhance system functionality going forward • Deploy thin-client for external Settlement Disputes & Service Requests • Dependencies: • None

PR-40066_03 Siebel 7 Upgrade Implementation Plan ERCOT System Outage Overview • At this time, ERCOT anticipates the outage timeframe below for the April Maintenance Retail Release • The timeframe is subject to change and confirmation will be provided prior to the release • Friday, April 15, 2005 through Sunday, April 17, 2005. • During the outage: • All transactions sent to ERCOT WILL be held at the Paperfree server during the outage • 867 transactions WILL be forwarded during the outage • NAESB EDM and ANSI responses WILL be sent during the outage (i.e. This includes 997 Functional Acknowledgements) • USA functionality will NOT be available • Retail components of the TML and API will NOT be available (i.e. This includes Find ESI, Find Transaction and Submit Transactions) • Settlement Disputes and Service Requests will NOT be available
PR-40066_03 Siebel 7 Upgrade Implementation Plan Shutdown Procedure • The shutdown times listed will be strictly adhered to unless prior notice is given to all MPs • All MPs should submit transactions well in advance of the shutdown time so that large transaction volumes are not experienced just prior to shutdown (i.e. if you run batch jobs, schedule them throughout the day)!!! • All MPs will have the opportunity to call-in to each conference call during the implementation if they wish to hear a progress update • All times listed are Central Prevailing Time
PR-40066_03 Siebel 7 Upgrade Implementation Plan Transaction Processing - Inbound Friday, April 15th @ 4:00 a.m. • ERCOT will… • Keep up NAESB and Paperfree • Shut down XML Mover (for 814 & 824 transactions) and 867 Upload • Shut down TML component for Settlement Disputes – for QSEs • Shut down TML component for Service Requests • This will isolate TCH processing… • Inbound MP transactions will be held at Paperfree NAESB EDM Response ANSI Responses • Held transactions will be converted to XML and staged for TCH • After inbound shut down, all in-flight transactions will continue to be processed and corresponding outbound transactions will be delivered throughout the day until the queues have been cleared ERCOT will continue to send…

PR-40066_03 Siebel 7 Upgrade Implementation Plan Testing Results Below is the status to-date of the Siebel 7.7 Testing Efforts as of 3/18/2005 in anticipation of the 04/17/2005 roll-out. • ERCOT has run 89 of 146 v7.7 Test Cases with all applications in iTest for Phase 1 (GUI / CRM / eService / Reporting) • ERCOT has run 53 of 396 v7.7 Test Cases with all applications in iTest for Phase 2 (Retail Transactions) ERCOT currently has 28 open defects out of a total of 163 logged… 80 - Documentation and Script errors or Data 24 - Bugs (Coding errors requiring application level changes) 37 - System or Environment related 22 - Unknown (Root cause not reported or still in analysis)
