Mrs. Uebelhardt’s Class Newsletter Week of October 14, 2013 • Announcements: • Students get out of school at 11:55 every day this week for conferences! Please make sure to pick them up on time! • My new last name is Uebelhardt! (you-bell-heart) I will still answer to any name, especially since Ernenwein is also a tricky one! • Please be sure to study mountain math every night. Many students are not finishing math tests in the allotted 30 seconds. • Jog-A-Thon this Friday! Our class will be on the track from 9:00-9:30am. Please make sure they wear appropriate shoes! • Donations wanted: colored printer paper (any but blue) • Homework: • Monday: Read bat story. Study for vocabulary, spelling words, and mountain muscle math each night. Read to a family member for 20 minutes. • Tuesday: Math & building words and writing worksheet. Read to a family member for 20 minutes. Study vocabulary, spelling & muscle math. • Wednesday: Math worksheet. Read to a family member for 20 minutes. Study vocabulary, spelling & muscle math. Spelling test tomorrow! • Thursday: Math and bat reading comprehension. E-homework (use an academic website or app of your choice). Read to a family member for 20 minutes. Study vocabulary & muscle math for tests tomorrow! • All homework is due the following day. Please place homework in red folder to bring back to school. • Tests: • Week 6 for Muscle Math (test Friday, must complete in 30 seconds) • Week 6 for Spelling (test Thursday) • Also practice recognizing Week 6 vocabulary words. Your child should be able to read each word (test Friday). This Week’s Star Student: Alexa Gomez • Important Dates: • Oct. 14-18: Parent conferences 12:00 dismissal • Oct. 18: Jog-a-Thon • Oct. 22: Painted Pony pumpkin patch (leave at 8:45 back by 1:00) • Jan. 24: Performing Arts presentation “Celtic Nights” @ Pepperdine University ($1.00/person, adult seats limited to our projected number… more info to come.
