Highlight of Current Activities • Standardization about Home Networking (HN) in Japan • Now on active stage of standardization • Control and Operation: Proposed to ITU, standardized Home-network Topology Identifying Protocol (JJ-300.00 ->G.9973) • Planning to study interworking between TR-069 and G.9973 for end device control • G.hn: Standardization of G.hn series(G.9960, G.9961, G.9972) in Japan for suitable Japanese network environments • New SWGstarted: The subject is to consider the system interwork of the whole HN, especially the use-casedemand from application. • Cooperation with the related SDOs and Fora • ITU-T, BB-Forum, HGI, DLNA, UPnP, etc. • Cooperation in Japan • New Generation Network Promotion Forum in Japan: IP network WG: Research technical and application demands • HATS[1] in Japan Tested NAT Traversal function between network and home equipment. Strategic Direction • Although TR-069 which is control from WAN was well known, but interworking with HN internal apparatus is not sufficiently defined. • About this problem, will study the interworking between TR-069 and G.9973 for end device control.
Challenges • Confirm interoperability of Control and Operation: Standardized Home-network Topology Identifying Protocol (G.9973)and TR-069 • Research possible interference to Japanese Domestic wireless systems such as TV broadcasting, CATV, and Cellular from the new equipment related G.hnStandards (JT-G9960, JT-G9961, JT-G9972).
Next Steps / Actions • TTC will conduct research on network middleware for the communication between access gateway and home terminals. • Examination and standardization of common Interface to provide service on service platform. • Service platform for several Applications. (DLNA, ECHONET…)
