Website Overview • Purpose of the site: To answer questions that perspective students have about Monroe College. • Business goals: To have perspective students sign up for more information/apply to the schooland create credibility for the school. • Value proposition: That the student can get first class education and a meaningful college experience for an affordable price. • What do expected user accomplish by interacting with the site: The user gets a better understanding of what Monroe College can offer them as potential college students. • What is the purpose for conducting this evaluation: To help make the website more user friendly and help get the information out to prospective students that they need to know. • What are the expected outcomes: That the website is very good as is, but could be improved in subtle ways.
Target Audience Two Target Audiences: -Potential students looking to continue their education - Soon to be high school graduates - Adults looking to further their education - Students looking to transfer from their current school - International students looking to come to America to pursue their college degree Decision Makers - Parents/spouse of potential students - College counselors in the high schools - Human resource departments/Managers of organizations
Competitive Analysis ASA College • A lot of useable space around the website • Social media links are at the bottom • There is a icon that continuously goes across the page asking if you would like to speak to a live representative • News and current event page is up to date and visible • Links are organized in a clear and concise fashion
Competitive Analysis Berkeley College • A lot of useable space on the website • Poor use of space duplicate links are on the top and the side and the icon is coming across the page • Links on top are to small not noticeable • “Transfer Tuesday” event stands out • Social media links are present and noticeable
Competitive AnalysisMonroe College • All links above the fold and clear and concise • Easy access to the “call-to-action” • Most pictures relevant to the experience they want to provide • “Monroe News” outdated • Social links not noticeable
Questions Asked • If I was an incoming H.S. student how would I apply for admission ? • What types of activities are there on campus? • What is the cost of tuition? • What is the cost of room and board?
Data Analysis It was difficult to find information on the site When you put you mouse on the navigation bar all of the links dropped down When you click on the information bar all links come down The links are not clear (I.E. Student Life) Difficult to find the next event
Data Analysis - Pertinent information was not easily accessable • Pictures not realistic
Recommendations • Be credible in all facets of the website • Make pertinent information accessable • Advertise the open house in a more prominent space • Condense the links to make things on the website easier to find
Conclusion Very effective website despite some minor flaws Bring these recommendations and the testing results to the Executive Director of Admissions
