1. Regular Checkups Can you remember the last time you went for an eye checkup? Nothing pops up in your mind; this is because most adults don’t visit an eye treatment specialist unless there is a problem to address. With age, your eye health deteriorates; hence an individual must visit an ophthalmologist at least once in a year. Early detection means faster recovery possible
2. Alter your diet Carrots are full of beta-carotene, which helps in maintaining healthy eyes. In addition, you should eat a lot many fruits and veggies. Eye specialists suggest broccoli, Brussels and bell pepper consumption. Vitamin C is essential for your eyes, so search about the fruits and veggies high on it. You can also include salmon and sardines to keep your eyes in good shape. Lastly, don’t forget to have spinach, which is good for your overall health as well
3. Avoid contact lens for long hours If you wear contact lenses for long hours, it can damage your eyes. Therefore, make sure to remove your lenses before going to sleep. Also, make sure to remove them while going for swimming or doing an activity as suggested by your ophthalmology doctor.
4. Take a break from your computer screen Headaches, blurry eyes, back, neck and shoulder pain, are also caused by sitting in front of a computer all day long. How to reduce your exposure? By making use of proper eye gear. Consult an eye specialist and ensure the glasses or contact lens you use are adequate for computer use. Give a rest to your eyes every twenty minutes, just look away from the monitor
