  2. IN CELEBRATION OF LIFE ….. Activities lined-up to celebrate the birthday of HRH Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, Sultan Selangor Darul Ehsan. First Malaysia Cycling event grace by the Sultan of Selangor & supported by many Business Corporations.

  3. Happy 65th Birthday DYMM Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Al-Haj Sultan Selangor Darul Ehsan. Turns 65years on 24th December 2010.

EVENT OBJECTIVES In celebration of nature’s abundance This event is voluntarily organised to promote cross-culture integration in a sporting activity which is fast gaining popularity in South-East Asia – CYCLING. Selangor DarulEhsan, a state known for it’s modernity and abundance is not short of scenic landscapes which can leave locals and foreigners spell-bound. The organisers have mapped out a safe and tested route for road cycling and it is hoped that the event will spur more activities and visits from the cycling fraternity and beyond to visit and savour the beauty of Selangorand Malaysia, over and over again. We will first start off this voluntarily race for Road Bike and will continue to do Mountain Bike Races in the coming future once this gains more popularity among the cycling & corporate communities.

  5. EVENT OBJECTIVES Charitable Event For every participant registered for this event, Rm 10 shall be put aside to be donated towards “Nourish the Children” program. What this would mean: • Assuming 500ppl, Rm 5,000 shall go towards this fund • Rm 5,000 would be able to purchase 60 bags of VitaMeal @ Rm 85 each • 1 bag VitaMeal feeds 1 child a month, 60 bags feed 60 children a month “Nourish the Children” Program by Nu Skin (NS) – www.nourishthechildren.com • NS’s CSR program which produces nutritious VitaMeal, a nutrient dense carefully formulated to provide all essential daily nutrients to nourish a child. Each VitaMeal bag contains 30 child size meal to feed one child for one month. • By donating a product rather than cash, donors knows exactly how their contributions is being used. • NS pledges that for every 8 packages of VitaMeal purchased and donated, the company will contribute 1 package to a qualified nonprofit humanitarian org.

DETAILS OF THE EVENT • This is an un-official road cycling race which has 2 categories, Competitive & NonCompetitive. • Event allow drafting at the participants own risk. • Every partcipants are insured in this event but individual has to take special precaution and care for themselves during the event. • Over-taking / Attacking moves are accepted but not encouraged. Participants has to take the risk themselves by not endangering the safety of others.

  13. PARTICIPANTS 500 participants are anticipated to take part in this event coming from all over Malaysia and the Klang Valley area. International participants from neighbouring ASEAN countries are also invited.

ABOUT SEMENYIH • Semenyih is a small town in Selangor, Malaysia about 8km South-East of Kajang, along the Kajang-Seremban Expressway. • Many will identify Kajang with it’s famous satay, a delicacy which has travelled the globe. • Semenyih Dam sits on 1,500 acres and is Malaysia’s largest man-man reservoir, supplying 120 million gallons of water a day.

  16. ABOUT SEMENYIH DAM Semenyih Dam was completed in 1998 at a cost of US$100 million Most of the small population surrounding the area is made up of Orang Asli Temiau, a local aborogine tribe. Wildlife is plentiful in this area, as seen from picture on right.
