Stepping Stones • In 1978 with a $ 12,000 investment ($4,000 of it borrowed), Ben and Jerry open their scoop shop • Ben and Jerry’s Ice cream quickly became well known for its rich, unusual flavors and community approach to business. • In 1987 he even wrote a book with Jerry called “Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream & Dessert Book
