  6. District 4A 05/30/2015 – Ward County 3 killed, 3 incapacitating injuries A 2012 Toyota Scion failed to negotiate a curve. The driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to skid broad side onto the wrong side of the road on SH 18. The Scion continued to skid across the roadway and into the oncoming lane’s barrow ditch. A 2010 Toyota Corolla, traveling in the opposite direction, took evasive action to the right and entered the barrow ditch and crashed head-on into the Scion, killing a passenger of the Scion, and the driver and a 3-year old female passenger in the Corolla. A 1-year old female passenger in the Scion and a 9-month old male passenger in the Corolla received incapacitating injuries. Contributing Factor: Under Influence – Alcohol 05/30/2015 – Ward County 1 killed A 2004 Ford pickup entered the center median on IH 20. The driver of the Ford overcorrected, slid and rolled over, killing the driver. Contributing Factor: Under Influence – Alcohol 06/04/2015 – Midland County 1 killed, 1 non-incapacitating injury A 2005 Toyota Prius crossed onto the wrong side of the road on SH 158 and crashed into a 2014 Toyota pickup traveling in the opposite direction, killing the driver of the Prius. Contributing Factor: Fail to Drive in Single Lane

  7. District 4A 06/08/2015 – Coke County 1 killed A 2002 Ford F150 drove off the roadway on US 277. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go into a side skid and enter a borrow ditch. The Ford rolled through a net fence and a group of trees, killing the unrestrained driver. Contributing Factor: Fail to Drive in Single Lane Seat Belt NOT Worn 06/07/2015 – Winkler County 1 killed A 2005 Ford F150 drifted across SH 18 into a borrow ditch and struck a highway sign. The driver overcorrected and entered a side skid back across the highway. The Ford entered another borrow ditch, rolled over, struck a fence and continued rolling, ejecting and killing the unrestrained driver. Contributing Factor: Fatigued or Asleep Seat Belt NOT Worn 06/07/2015 – Howard County 1 killed, 2 incapacitating injuries A 1998 Ford F150 failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign on Center Point Road at the intersection with US 87. The Ford entered the intersection with cross-traffic present. A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado C2500 entered the intersection on US 87 and crashed into the driver’s side of the Ford. The Ford rolled over, killing the 16-year old male driver. A 16-year old male passenger in the Ford suffered an incapacitating injury. Contributing Factor: Fail to Yield Right of Way – Stop Sign Coke County – 6/8/2015

District 4A 06/08/2015 – Reeves County 2 killed, 1 incapacitating injury, 2 non-incapacitating injuries A 2014 Ford F250 crossed onto the wrong side of the road into the path of a 2001 GMC Sierra C1500 traveling in the opposite direction on US 285. Both vehicles took evasive action, driving off the roadway into a ditch, and then collided head-on, killing the driver and a passenger of the GMC. Contributing Factor: Wrong Side – Not Passing Seat Belt NOT Worn 06/09/2015 – Midland, Midland County 1 killed The driver of a 2008 Ford Mustang lost control while changing lanes on Scharbauer Drive, causing the Ford to roll over, killing the driver. (Midland PD) Contributing Factors: Fail to Drive in Single Lane, Faulty Evasive Action Reeves County – 6/8/2015

  9. District 4A 06/11/2015 – Andrews County Haz-Mat Crash A 2007 Volvo TTST transporting petroleum crude oil drifted into a borrow ditch on SH 115. The driver overcorrected and entered a side skid, causing the Volvo to roll over onto its side. Damage was sustained to the left side of the cargo tank, resulting in a leak and exposing the crude oil to the environment. 06/12/2015 – Martin County Haz-Mat Crash A 2014 Peterbilt TTST transporting boosters, detonator assemblies, ammonium nitrate, and fuel oil was traveling at an unsafe speed for wet road conditions on SH 137. The driver lost control, causing the Peterbilt to overturn and skid into a bar ditch, exposing 150 pounds of ammonium nitrate to the environment.

  10. District 4A 06/13/2015 – Pecos County 1 killed, 1 non-incapacitating injury A 2008 Ford F250 pickup crossed onto the wrong side of the road on SH 349. The driver overcorrected, sending the Ford across the right side of the road and continuing off the roadway. The Ford struck a rock cut- out and rolled over, ejecting and killing the driver. Contributing Factors: Fatigued or Asleep, Speeding, Faulty Evasion Action, Under Influence – Alcohol (Possible) Seat Belt NOT Worn 06/14/2015 – Andrews County 1 killed A 2005 Dodge Durango failed to negotiatea curve on US 385. The Dodge left the roadway and rolled over, ejecting and killing the driver. Contributing Factors: Faulty Evasive Action, Had Been Drinking Seat Belt NOT Worn Pecos County – 06/13/2015

  11. District 4A 06/15/2015 – Midland County 1 killed A 2011 Kenworth TTST failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign on SH 349 at the intersection with CR 114, and entered the intersection with cross-traffic present. A 2006 Jeep Liberty crashed into side of the semi-trailer of the Kenworth, catching fire and killing the driver. Contributing Factor: Fail to Yield Right of Way – Stop Sign 06/16/2015 – Martin County Haz-Mat Crash A 2012 Peterbilt TTST transporting crude oil rolled over while making a right turn from FM 846 onto SH 137. There was minimal damage to the cargo tank and no visible crude oil was exposed to the environment. 06/17/2015 – Ector County 1 killed A 2003 Kenworth TTST failed to yield right of way while entering FM 1882 from private property. An on-coming 1999 Harley-Davidson motorcycle entered a side skid and crashed into the Kenworth’s semi-trailer, killing the operator. Contributing Factor: Fail to Yield Right of Way – Private Drive Helmet NOT Worn Midland County – 06/15/2015

  12. District 4A 06/19/2015 – Reagan County Haz-Mat Crash A 1997 Peterbilt TTST transporting crude oil failed to control its speed while making a turn on CR 113. The Peterbilt rolled over without spilling its load. While the product was being unloaded onto another truck, approximately 44 gallons of oil was exposed to the environment.

  13. District 4B 06/19/2015 – Culberson County 1 killed A 2005 Chrysler 500 left the roadway on RR 652. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to skid off the road and roll over, ejecting and killing the driver. Contributing Factor: Faulty Evasive Action Seat Belt NOT Worn

  14. District 4A 06/21/2015 – Midland County 1 killed A 2015 Chevrolet Silverado C3500 was traveling the wrong way on West Texas Road. The Chevrolet proceeded through the intersection with Big Spring Street and struck a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer traveling on Big Spring Street, killing the driver of the Mitsubishi. The driver of the Chevrolet was charged with Intoxication Manslaughter. (Midland PD) Contributing Factors: Under Influence – Alcohol, Wrong Way – One Way Roadway

  15. District 4A 06/22/2015 – Kimble County 3 killed A 2007 Jeep Compass crossed onto the wrong side of the road on US 290. The Jeep hit a 1992 Chevrolet Caprice head-on, killing driver of the Jeep and both the driver and passenger of the Chevrolet. Contributing Factors: Wrong Side – Not Passing, Driver Inattention (Possible) Seat Belts NOT Worn 06/25/2015 – Tom Green County 1 killed, 1 non-incapacitating injury A 2012 Nissan Rogue was exiting a private drive onto RM 584. A 2009 Honda motorcycle was traveling on RM 584 and struck the Nissan, killing the operator of the motorcycle. Contributing Factor: Fail to Yield Right of Way – Private Drive Helmet – Worn/Damaged Tom Green County – 6/25/2015 Kimble County – 6/22/2015

  16. District 4A 07/01/2015 – Midland County 1 killed, 2 incapacitating injuries, 1 non-incapacitating injury A 2014 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling on the wrong side of the road on SH 158. A 2006 International Truck traveling in the opposite direction was hit head-on by the Volkswagen, killing the driver of the Volkswagen. Contributing Factors: Wrong Side – Not Passing, Under Influence – Drug (Possible) Midland County – 07/01/2015 Midland County – 07/01/2015

  17. District 4A 07/02/2015 – Sutton County 1 killed, 3 non-incapacitating injuries A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado pickup left the roadway on IH 10. The driver overcorrected, causing the pickup to roll over, strike a rock embankment, and kill a 10-year old female passenger. Contributing Factors: Fail to Drive in Single Lane, Faulty Evasive Action Sutton County – 07/02/2015

  18. District 4A 07/02/2015 – Winkler County Haz-Mat Crash A 2006 Peterbilt TTST was transporting white diesel fuel on SH 302. The driver was traveling at an unsafe speed, and failed to negotiate a curve, causing both the tractor and tanker to roll over. The tanker ruptured, exposing approximately 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel to the environment. 07/03/2015 – Andrews County 2 killed A 2015 Dodge Charger traveling on SH 115 veered off the roadway at the intersection of Loop 1910. The Dodge entered the borrow ditch, crashing into the concrete base of a traffic signal light pole. The Dodge caught fire, killing both the driver and passenger. Contributing Factor: Fail to Drive in Single Lane Andrews County – 07/03/2015
