Contributions of Latinos *Foods: tacos, chili, burritos, enchiladas, tamales, salsa, tortillas. *Words: barbecue, tornado, canyon, patio, hurricane, ranch, coyote, mosquito. *Cool Stuff: ponchos, western saddles, guitars, Spanish style buildings, lassos. *Other Gifts: rodeos, tango and mambo dances, Spanish folk songs.

  4. European Americans • They came in 1607 • They taught us democracy. • They settled in Canada, Alaska, New York and the Eastern Coast.
