  1. Ben Woodard Cyber/School Bullying in teens

  2. Thesis statement • Cyber bullying is a big deal. Cyber bullying effects their future life. Students more exposed to bullying are more likely to commit a crime then people who don’t experience it. Cyber bullying in bad, for the community, for the schools, and for the state.

  3. Negatives • Cyber bullying happens to everybody • Cyber bullies use electronics to threaten people • They effect school systems and increase fights • It is now considered a crime in certain states

  4. In school! • Kids in school are even more scared of bullies since the internet became possible for all ages. Kids are worrying and fretting over things on the internet instead of things in the classroom, teachers are concerned and acting by submitting cases to the state. “in an attempt to deal with cyber-bullying, states are enacting cyber-bullying laws “ • I agree that cyber-bullying is no small deal and there needs to be laws against it.

  5. Distracting kids • “fears of an obesity epidemic and cyber-bullying are among the multitude of issues facing young peoples” • There are many kids that fear this and think to much of it, and it has crippling effects on kids when they grow into adults

  6. Schools are acting out • “In-person taunting and cyber-bullying will be wiped out or at least diminished” • Only some of the cyber bullying can be stopped, school systems can stop all of it, they cant prevent off campus activities..

  7. Preventing it • “To solve bullying we could get more aware of it” • “We want students to know people are different” • All schools really want to do is prevent it, whichever way possible, the preferred way is to inform students of the dangers of bullying. I believe this is the best way to prevent it

  8. Source 5! • “An eighteen year old girl in Cincinnati killed herself who killed herself in 2008 due to cyber-bullying” • Once again the effects of bullying is significant and really does harm people, even can cause death

  9. Source 6! • “In-school cyber bullies are now subject to a three day suspension” • Suspending students helps with punishing them for their deeds, but it does not stop the problem

  10. Source 7! • “Our top priority is to make a sure that kids have a safe place to come to school” • There needs to be a enactment towards this more so than detentions and suspensions, because if our schools aren't safe, and our students aren't learning….than our future becomes dim

  11. Source 8! • “When everyone shows up at school the next day, instead of being fit to learn they’re still caught up in toxic words” • Words hurt when directed critically at people, and it makes them think of things other than school.
