Idea • “It’s Game Day” will centre around women’s football and will consist of the follow: • A 15 minute podcast every 2-4 weeks • Game Day videos – traveling to the game (be it by car, train etc) • Photos from the games
The podcast • Possible tagline: “Made by the fans for the fans” …? • To include: • Round up of games from Sweden, France, Germany, England, USA. (within 90 seconds? If possible) • Guest appearances from influential fans (e.g. Girls on the Ball, Liverpool ladies fans, The GangENG) • Special guests to talk about different issues within the game e.g. sexism or homophobia – Just a ball game? • Possible player interviews as well – if international players then interviews via phone.
Other aspects of “Its game day” • Photos and videos from ‘game days’: • Short videos from the games, including ideal starting lineups, players to look out for and score predictions • Shows people how far we’ve travelled • Speak to fans at the games
Influences • She Kicks – Women’s football magazine • WFPOD – Woso podcast by two men, chatting about leagues with high profile player interviews (e.g. Carli Lloyd, Jess Fishlock, Megan Rapinoe) • Girls on the Ball (GOTB) – live updates from all the games they attend, photos from the games, they run a website and have occasional player interviews. • Women’s Soccer Utd (Twitter and website) – they find video highlights from the majority of the games being played across the world, live updates on starting lineups and goals from all professional/semi profession leagues, including youth national team games.
