ePortfolios are a valuable learning and assessment tool. An ePortfolio is a digitized collection of artifacts including demonstrations, resources, and accomplishments that represent an individual, group, or institution. Called for in CCC System Strategic Plan What’s an ePortfolio?

Pilot Project Goals Teaching & Learning: Contribute to and support the community of practice on ePortfolios, to determine relative merits of ePortfolios and determine best practices for their deployment Functionality: Develop common information standards for exchange of information between ePortfolio platforms and other CCC systemwide services Operations: Evaluate merits of providing systemwide licensing, hosting, and support services for ePortfolio solutions Business: Develop business plan and assess requirements for a statewide ePortfolio solution

Five Steps for a successful ePortfolio • Reflect: Reflect on what you’ve accomplished in school and in your career, and how it fits with your goals. • Collect: Collect the information for your ePortfolio. • Select: Select those documents that are most pertinent to your goals and keep them handy, as you work on your ePortfolio. • Build: Build your site using an ePortfolio tool. • Publish: Publish your ePortfolio. You can let others read all or only parts of your site.
