  5. Why is the unrestricted Annual Fund important? It provides funds that can be used where the need is the greatest • Academic support • Library resources • Campus Ministry • Student Programs • Financial Aid

  6. Financial Aid Update • 78% of our students receive need-based financial aid • State budget cuts have resulted in less grant money • Endowed scholarship funds reduced by $300,000 in 2010 due to economy • Number of requests for additional financial aid from current students has tripled!

  7. Financial Aid Update • Assumption is spending an additional $800,000 on financial aid in 2010-2011 • The Annual Fund has increased its dollar goal to support financial aid needs How will we reach this goal and increase alumni participation to 18%?

  8. FY 2010 Potential Undergraduate Alumni Participation Goals Donors making gifts from April 1-May 31: FY`09 – 888 FY`08 – 1,277 FY`07 – 1,273 FY`03 – 1,180 LYBUNTS as of 3/30/10: 1,383

  10. LYBUNTS • Each class has LYBUNTS and recent past donors • Each class has Class Agents • Each Class Agent will be contacting LYBUNTs and recent past donors for a gift • Every call, every contact counts! • We CAN meet our match!

Criteria for Challenge • IF no AF gift in FY’09, 100% of gift in FY’10 will be matched (double money) • IF AF gift in FY’09, anything above what was given in FY’09 will be matched • For example-- $100 to 2009 AF $150 to 2010 AF $ 50 for TC • ONLY unrestricted Annual Fund (not Greyhound, scholarships)

Highlights of the Challenge • Financial Aid is highlight this fiscal year • Unrestricted Annual Fund support key! • Increase dollars and donors (% participation) through Trustee Challenge • If you gave in 2009, anything beyond that gift will be matched. • If you did not give in 2009, everything will be matched.
