Where I'm From By Grace Dougherty
I’m From… The computer From my fathers artistic drawings, and so many TV shows
I’m from… The old swing set, an old blue wagon, And sports supplies piled in the shed From An old falling apart fire place And tall trees that spread their branches protectively overhead
I’m from… Lamb stew on Christmas Eve From Homemadecheese burgers And chocolate cake
AWESOME I’m from… “Hold your horses” From “ Be the bigger person” And “awesomeness”
I’m from… I’m from a caring mom, A funny dad And An chatty brother that that I love anyway From My grand parents And my many, many cousins
I’m from The cabin in the mountains From Righting my first story And reading my first chapter
I’m from My grotesque drawings And pictures of people I do not remember From My messy room And my big squishy brain
I’m from The fading images of experiences On the ever extending string of memories
