  2. Early life • Given up for adoption at birth • Adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs • Dropped out of college and went to India. • Worked for Atari making electronics for video games.

  3. Apple • Founded Apple with Steve Wozniak in 1976. Apple I 1976 200 sold One sold for $390,000 in 2013 Apple II 1977 6 million sold Made Jobs rich Macintosh 1984 Over 200 million sold Made Jobs mega-rich • Left Apple in 1985 after disagreement with other managers.

  4. NeXT • Set up another computer company called NeXT. The world’s first website was developed on a NeXT. • Sold NeXT to Apple in 1996 for $427 million.

  5. Pixar • Bought Pixar for $10 million in 1986. • Produced lots of successful movies. • Sold Pixar in 2006 for $7.4 billion.

  6. Back to Apple • Jobs came back to Apple in 1997. The company was losing a lot of money but he changed all that with: iMac iPod iPhone iPad • Now Apple is one of the most successful companies in the world.

  7. Final years • He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003. • He had a liver transplant in 2009. • He left Apple because of illness in August 2011 and died on October 5 2011, aged 56.
