Social Media is FREE • Social Media is here to stay and can be a big part of your Club’s outreach • Start slow using Facebook and then progress to other social media platforms such as Twitter and Google+ • Everyone can get involved • Take a picture during your meeting and Post to your Facebook Profile • Share what is Posted on your Club’s Facebook Page • Connect with RI and other Clubs on Facebook, LinkedIn & Twitter
Have a Social Media Committee as Part of PR Committee Have 1 or more members responsible for social media postings Set up a schedule • Monday – Post the upcoming Speaker with picture & bio • Tuesday – Share something from the District page • Wednesday - Share something from the RI Facebook page • Thursday – Grab a video off of YouTube • Friday – Post something about a new member, event, community project, etc. Whatever day you meet, take a picture and Post to your Facebook Club Page and your Profile. Spread the word!
The Facebook Quandary • Facebook requires a Page to be connected to a Profile • It violates Facebook’s Terms of Service to have more than one Profile page • That being said, you may still want to use an email that is created for your Club, i.e. Admin@ABCRotary.com and set up the Facebook page with that login and create a password • Make the Profile page something as simple as Susan Rotary and do not fill out any other info on it • Could you get caught at some time in the future? Possibly but Facebook is constantly making changes so hopefully they will add some kind of “employee/admin” profile • Their Business Account Profile did not give enough flexibility
