  2. Who was George Washington? George Washington February 22, 1732 to Mary and Augustine Washington. He was the oldest son born to them. 1973was when his military career began. In 1754, he was in the French and Indian war. On July 3, 1754 he was forced to surrender at fort Necessity. Washington died from laryngitis on December 14, 1799. He is well known as the First president of the United states. His image is Used often as a symbol of our country. Washington was a patriot, he was against the British. Mt. Rushmore has his head in stone as a memorial.

  3. What was his role in the war? George was the Leader/Commander of the continental army. He took command of them in 1775. After almost destruction of the army in 1776, he began avenging his turf. His victories help encourage the French to help them. He is remembered on the dollar bill. He also has a dollar coin in his honor.

  4. Did Washington survive the war? George Washington did survive the war. After the war his status was, he became the president of the Constitutional convention. Later he was elected president of the United states for being such a great leader.
