HK single women’s attitude towards sex • 47% find it acceptable to start having sex at 18; 10% say 17 or younger; and 3% say one should wait after marriage. • 54% think a woman can have more than one sex partners in her life-time. • 60% think a woman can have sex more than once a week. • 4% accept a sexual relationship without love and 90% do not • 73% consider sex satisfaction important to women.
HK single women’s attitude towards contraception (1) • The majority (57%) have used condom for contraception. 17% have taken oral contraceptives, which is lesser than the 25% of using external ejaculation. • 70% think condom can be used for both contraception and STD prevention ; 17% perceivethat condom is for contraception only. • 46% regard condom as a more reliable contraception method while 33% consider oral contraceptive more reliable. • 48% agree that oral contraceptive is a safe and reliable contraception means.
HK single women’s attitude towards contraception (2) • 85% think oral contraceptives have side effects. • 58% do not know any benefits of oral contraceptives other than contraception. • Result shows that HK single women are not conservative on sex, yet lack sound knowledge of contraception know-how. There is a need in promoting public education in this area.
