  2. The Travel Marketing Program at Los Medanos College (a California Community College) offers all travel courses in a FULLY online format.You can “attend class” from the convenience of your home or office virtually from anywhere in the world. Online Classes in Travel Marketing

How does our online class work? • The only difference between our online classes and our face-to-face classes is that you don’t need to physically come to the classroom. • Just like any college course, you complete the assigned reading each week from the textbook that you have purchased for the online course. • You attend class “virtually” each week by logging into the class anytime during the day, but at least every other day during the week (about 3 hours a week online). • You read the agenda for the week, participate in group discussions online in the “Discussion Board”, email your assignments to your instructor, and complete quizzes and exams online. • The class is not self-paced. We set the pace so that you complete work according to the schedule posted online. Online Classes in Travel Marketing

Computer requirements to take our online courses • High speed Internet connection • Internet service provider • Internet browser – most will work, Internet Explorer is the most commonly used • Email account • Virus protection • Basic computer knowledge: • Knowledge of MS Word, Email etiquette, facility with attaching Word documents to email, and software to view a PowerPoint presentation like this one. Time commitment • To succeed in our online classes, you should commit approximately 9 hours a week to each course. • 3 hours to read the textbook each week • 3 hours online in the discussion board and reading other materials online • 3 hours to research and complete your assignments • This is standard for all our classes that meet for 3 hours a week face-to-face in a classroom. Registering for our online classes Step by step: • Complete an LMC college application form online at www.losmedanos.edu. • Once your application is processed, you will receive your Student Identification Number in the mail. • Enroll for any of our classes online at www.losmedanos.edu in “Web Advisor” using your Student ID number. • Email the instructor for additional details and information about ordering the textbook online (if applicable). • Log into the online class at http://online.losmedanos.edu/ the day the class begins and follow the instructions online.
