Camp Objectives • Our objective is to determine how the people of New Jersey can have plenty of clean water. • By using satellite images we can view the areas that generate the most runoff. • We must use satellite images to detect runoff. • Determine where industries exists in the watershed. • Use virtual fly by to calculate different slopes in the watershed.

  3. What is a Watershed? • A watershed drains to a single low point. • There are watersheds everywhere on Earth. • Each river has its own watershed. • Cities, forests, highways and people exist on specific watersheds. • Residents of Newark get their water from the Hackensack Watershed.

  4. What is a composite • A composite is satellite images combined on top of each other.

  12. In Conclusion In This Camp We Learned How to Solve the Problems of Industries Contaminating Water. We Learned How to Fix These Problems by Zoning the Industries at Least 500 Feet Away From the Water. In New Jersey we need strict city Zoning rules. We need to start moving industries to other places away from the waterfronts so that they will not cause pollution.
