Characteristics • This phylum has no backbone (invertebrates) • Can reproduce both sexual and asexual • All live in Water • Sessile organism(Attach to one spot and do not move at all)
More Characteristics • Filter feeding( Specialized cells known as pore cells.) • These cells allows the sponge to eat microorganism like zooplankton and any other single celled organism. • No tissues yet has cells( Collection of Cells) • Spicules (Needlelike spines made of hard minerals such as calcium or silicon) • Never change as much.
