Mission Statement At the RAN Institute of Education, we have many goals for out students: • To provide the fundamentals needed to learn over a lifetime • Promote growth and development in the profession • Instill confidence and self respect for those who go through the program
Field Experiences • Early Childhood • Placement in a pre-school through kindergarten environment • Childhood • Placement in grades 1-6 elementary school • Childhood with Special Education • Placement in grades 1-6 elementary school with children with disabilities who can access the regular education curriculum • Adolescent • Placement in grades 7-12 middle and high school with students receiving instruction in the candidates major
Field Experience (continued) • You will be going out on your field experiences during your specific educational courses • For every two weeks in the classroom, you will spend one week out on your field experience • Mentor teachers will be giving your assignments that you are to complete along with your regular class work • A minimum of 60 hours of field experience will be completed throughout the semester

Training and Techniques to Educate Perspective Teachers • We are going to place students in an educational environment where they can begin to feel like a teacher • They will get hands-on experience in dealing with children of all different ages • The students will be placed in situations where they must adapt to different circumstances
Standards for New Teachers • Students can observe and assess what is happening in the classroom • Students will create and maintain a safe and positive learning environment • Students will focus and adapt to the learner • Students will understand the content and provide meaningful learning experiences • Students will demonstrate professionalism and partake actively in the community
