Topic: Write a descriptive paragraph (10-15 lines) about your room. Step 1: Brainstorm a list of adjectives/imagery phrases 10-15 to describe your room. Consider the following: You are now allowed to use the same adjective twice. Area (length x width) Style of room: messy, charming, ship-shape, glitzy, inviting, sporty, warm, cozy, relaxing, romantic, girlie, dishhelved, (messy and 2 alternate adjectives for that word) Describe one time of day when you walk in your room (am, after school, around bed time and be specific) How do you walk ( enter your room). You are not allowed to use the word, walk or go. Try stroll, step, gingerly (cautiously), parade, skip, slide, tip toe, pussyfoot, parade, prance, confidently, stomp, wander. Colors and objects in your room, walls, posters, etc.: use imagery Consider smells Who is in your room? How your room makes you feel overall? Why is your room important to you?
Decide on 3-4 transitions that you wan to use. • You are only allowed to use I three times in your paragraph. • You are not allowed to repeat the same adjective…only one time • You are not allowed to use the words, cool, awesome, boring, things, stuff. • You must give a conclusion about how your room makes you feel overall • Paragraph must use commas after adjectives where necessary • Spelling counts • Use 10-15 lines in paragraph.
