  6. A little egg laid on a leaf.

  7. One Sunday a little caterpillar was out of the egg.

  8. He is very hungry.

  9. On Monday, he ate through one apple.

  10. On Tuesday, he ate through twopears.

  11. On Wednesday, he ate through threeoranges.

  12. On Thursday, he ate through fourpineapples.

  13. On Friday, he ate through five cherries.

  14. On Saturday, he ate through one strawberry, one grape, one kiwi, one peach, and one watermelon.

  15. On Sunday, he was not hungry any more. Now he was a big, and f a t caterpillar.

  16. He built a cocoon around himself. He stayed inside for two weeks.

  17. Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon and came out...

  18. Look ! He was a beautiful butterfly!
