  2. This course aims to help the students understand how life develops from a single fertilized egg to an organism with complicated and integrated functions.

  3. By the end of the course, the students will be familiar with: (1)The development of model organisms including Drosophila, zebrafish, mouse etc. (2)The important molecular and cellular mechanisms that govern the developmental processes. (3)How congenital diseases will occur while normal development is perturbed.

  4. The frontiers of developmental biology, such as “cloning” and “stem cell”.
