Third amendment • No quartering of soldiers in private homes.
Fourth amendment • Bans illegal search and seizure.
Fifth amendment • Ensures legal protections and prohibits double jeopardy and forced testimony against oneself.
Sixth amendment • Gives rights to a lawyer, speedy trial, and a jury in criminal cases.
Seventh amendment • Gives rights to a jury trial in civil cases (lawsuits)
Eighth amendment • Outlaws cruel and unusual punishments and excessive fines (bail)
Ninth amendment • Protects rights not listed in other amendments.
Tenth amendment • Grants powers not in the Constitution to the states.
