Special Initiative The state government has declared that the year 2011-12 will be observed as " PRODUCTIVITY YEAR" for all agricultural crops. During the year various programme will be focused towards this. Special programme on 20% productivity increase for Soybean has been planned JICA assisted programme to enhance the productivity and production level of Soybean has been initiated in Madhya Pradesh, aiming to enhance the productivity up to 25 Qutls. per ha. in next five years.
Special Initiative To increase the productivity of Kodo-Kutki through improved Agriculture Technologies in nutrient-cereals in 60 identified blocks of 10 district. 1000 MODEL VILLAGE (3 villages per block) selected as to demostrate comprehensive production enhancing agriculture practices through integrated approach by convergence of all schemes
Cont.. Self sufficiency in soybean wheat and mustered seed production through Seed producing cooperative Societies. SRR in soybean, wheat and mustard increased to 23.88, 27.10 and 29.97 respectively (2010). Provision of 30% Top-up subsidy for drip, rain-gun and sprinkler systems Conducting the demonstration on farmer's field to access adoptability of implement such as straw reaper, reaper cum binder, rotavator, laser-land leveler and low lift pump, seed cum fertilizer drill with ridge and furrow system.
Haldhar Yojna • A scheme to encourage Deep Ploughing of fields by providing assistance of Rs. 1000 per ha. 60,000 hectares of land has been deep ploughed. This year 1,20,000 ha. proposed under the scheme. • Farmers will get assistance for 'Scientific Land Preparation' and 'Line Sowing' also from 2011-2012 in the scheme.
Establishment Of Custom Hiring Centers In Oilseed & Pulse Growing Villages • Out of the 1440 centers allotted, the state has established 850 centers so far. Tractors and Implements are being provided to them and these centers will start functioning from 15th of April 2011. Process for remaining centers is in progress. • Centers in the state will be run by 6 different agencies as follows- 1. Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies. 2. Marketing Cooperative Societies 3. Double Lock Centers Of MARKFED. 4. Departmental Farms 5. Farms Of Seed Corporation. 6. Units of Agriculture Engineering.
Best practices 1st State to promote PPP model (ATMA) Organisation of Krishi Vigyan Mela at Distt. / block level Monthly newsletter; broad casting and telecasting of Technical knowhow on Radio and TV respectively.
Antyodaya Mela Antyodaya Mela in all 50 districts has been organized at district head quarter where physical assets and accessories distributed by Hon'able Chief Minister and other dignitaries. It has helped us to expedite sanction and disbursement.

Best practices • Farmtech 2011 – at Bhopal • A 6 days All India fair demonstrating the best of Agricultural, Horticultural, Dairy was orgnized from 3rd Fabruary to 8th Fab. 2011. Nearly 50000 farmers from 50 districts from Madhya Pradesh, Orisa, Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttarpradesh, Rajasthan and Gujrat benefitted from this Mela.
Best practices • To enhance SRR in Soybean , Wheat and Pulses • To promote hybrid rice technology in the state • To popularize Raised-bed planting of Arhar • To bring awareness among the farmers for the application of Zinc and Sulphur
Thrust Area-Agriculture(Initiative Taken) • Reduction in Interest rate to 1% for short term crop loans. • Provision of Rs. 100 as bonus per quintal for wheat procurement above MSP. • State has encouraged the construction of BalramTaal, KhetTalab, Percolation Tank, Micro Irrigation Tank and Dugwell in Farmers field which has resulted in improvement of the water table. • State has given top up subsidy on sprinklers, drip and farm implements. • M.P. has emerged as the producer of garlic, chili and coriander. • Excellent work has been done in Chhindwara and Shajapur in citrus fruits
Thrust Area Agriculture(Issues for discussion) • MSP should be decided region-wise depending upon productivity. • MSP of Arhar should be reconsidered because it is a long duration crop as compared to moong and urad. • Bonus of Rs. 500 per quintal for pulses should be also extended to oilseed crops especially in case of soybean.
Thrust Area - Agriculture(Issues for discussion) • NHM should be cover all districts of the state (at present only 39 districts covered) • Reforms in Agriculture crop insurance. • Frost should be included under National Calamity for relief.
