  1. Welcome to AP World HistorySummer assignment overview Pick up a copy of: Summer Reading Packet AP World History summer assignment 8000 B.C.E – 600 B.C.E. Timeline

  2. Elements of the assignment • Assignment #1 Geographic regions • You will need to be able to circle and name each region, without being provided with a list of the regions

  3. Assignment #1 (cont.) Civilizations • On the map provided, circle and label the following Civilizations, 8,000BCE-600BCE: • Mesopotamia (Tigris/Euphrates R.) • Egypt & Nubia (Nile R.) • Mohenjo-Daro & Harappa (Indus R. ) You will need to use the internet to find this one • Shang (Yellow R.) • Olmecs • Chavin (Andes Mts) • Minoans & Mycenaeans • Israel Use the maps in the reading packet to locate the civilizations
