  1. 7 Chakras - Their Meaning and Importance The basic concept of Chakra in Yoga is very simple but has a lot of importance. To understand their importance, you need to know what they mean. The name of a chakra reflects what a chakra is, and also where it is and what effects it has? For example, to understand what a chakra is or where it is located, you just need to know its name. The Root Chakra, which lies at the body’s base, provides balance and stability. So, the name of this chakra also reflects the meaning of this chakra and what it does, and why it is important. Here is the list of seven chakras and their meaning, and importance. •Root Chakra (Muladhara): The Root Chakra, which means base chakra. It is present at the base of our body when we sit and our legs are folded. The exact location is closer to the pelvis, or the base of the spine in our body. It has the color red and is known to provide stability and balance. Think of it as a force that helps you stay on the ground and protects you from falling. There are some physical parts and actions of our body that this chakra is linked to, these include, the colon, bladder, and problems like constipation, etc. Opening this chakra is very important as it will help you stabilize your body, and without stability, you cannot do anything in your life. •Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): Sacral Chakra is placed slightly above the root chakra, closer to our belly button. It is related to multiple senses and has the meaning of sexuality. If you want to live an active sexual life, keeping this chakra would be very important. Because it is also linked to puberty, pleasure, and also creativity. If your chakra is blocked, you will not find yourself creative. That is why you should practice yoga to open this chakra. Apart from sensations, it is also linked with things such as self-worth and emotions.

  2. •Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): This chakra is known as Solar Plexus Chakra and has the meaning of self- esteem and confidence. This chakra has a yellow color and is placed above the Sacral Chakra. It is closely located near our stomachs. This chakra is physically responsible for our food digestion, and processes. Not only that but it is also linked to keeping us healthy. The Solar Plexus Chakra also provides us confidence that we need to succeed in our lives. Keeping this Chakra open is very important as if it is turned off, we will not have self- worth or esteem feeling. •Heart Chakra (Anahata): The Heart Chakra, as the name suggests is related to the heart. It is also located near the heart on the left side of the chest. The Heart Chakra is linked with everything that we associate with the heart starting from the feeling of love, and other emotions. It has a green color and symbolizes love, compassion, and true feeling. If this chakra is blocked, we will feel pain in our chest and our lives will be without love and feeling of compassion. It opens up in the teenage years if you practice yoga. •Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): This is the chakra located in the throat area. It is responsible for our sound. It is also linked with the overall health of humans. It is linked with the ability to speak and has a blue color. This chakra needs to be balanced as it has impacted all over our bodies and personality. If it is blocked, we will not be expressive and this can take away a lot of the opportunities from our lives. It is also linked with our habit of dominating others. This Chakra helps live a successful and healthy life. •Third-Eye Chakra (Ajna): It is located between the two eyes. The physical location of this chakra is in the thalamus part of our brain. This chakra when enabled helps us see what we cannot see through two eyes. We only see the material world around us but the other part of the world is hidden and we can only see once this third eye opens. It is indicated with the Indigo color.

  3. •Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): The Crown Chakra lies above all the chakra, as the name suggests, it is the top chakra that you need to unlock at the end. It has a white to violet color and is located in our brain. It is linked with our behaviors, and awareness of the world. Conclusion: The article above contains a list of seven chakras, their meaning, colors, and what they do. Each of these chakras is important and should be opened in a sequence starting from bottom to top. To know more about it, you should join Arhanta Yoga Ashrams course on this.
