A Mixture is… • A combination of 2 or more substances that are not chemically combined.
Heterogeneous Mixture • The prefix: "hetero"- indicates difference. • The substances are not uniformly mixed • can see different pieces and possibly pull pieces out/separate it
Homogeneous Mixture • The prefix: "homo"- indicates sameness • Uniform distribution within the mixture • looks the same throughout; can’t pull different pieces out
