Supplement to Support Use of 100g • IU received US$600K supplement from NSF • Direct support for users to try out 100G circuits • Funding to support extending monitoring tools • IXIA 100G Tester • NOTE: Not money for circuits, but support for *USE* of circuits
Testbed Use • We’re primarily using the ANA-100-G circuit • We writeup a request for time, equipment, etc identifying our partners for the work • This is evaluated by the consortium owners • Their goal is to broadly support science – for more information here please contact • Erik-Jan Bosejb@jibconsult.nl • Could use other testbeds, such as ESNet 100G domestic testbed
What Are We Seeing • 1) The hardest part is working with the links between the end user’s site and the testbed • 2) How many applications *really* need this? • 3) Language issues • 4) Baseline functionality issues vs higher level, often experimental, tech
What Are We Seeing • 5) Very different requirements even for a single appl. • 6) Cross-domain network debugging is HARD • 7) We need to share information about what works better
