Untitled #1 • Taken in 2008 during the 11 cycle of America’s Next Top Model. • There is both natural and unnatural lighting. • The lighting is coming from her right. • The lighting is nice because it illuminates her face and darkens the water and background, which adds an element of mystery. • The main interest in the photograph is the model submerged in the water. • She is placed in the left half of the photograph on a rule of thirds line. • The photograph is attractive because there is an element of mystery by the way the model is posed and the way the lighting affects the background and the model. • The water and fog add texture to the photograph. • The photographer is trying to create a sense of mystery and fashion because of the models hair and makeup. • I chose this photograph because I liked the mystery.
Untitled #2 • Taken in 2009 during the 13 cycle of America’s Next Top Model. • Natural lighting is used. • The light is coming from behind the model. • The lighting highlights the model well, and it makes the background more interesting. • The main subject in the photograph is the model. • I can tell that she is the man subject because she is the only person/object in the photograph besides the background. • The background and the model’s clothes and headdress match to make a sense of unity. • The wind causes the movement of her hair and the background, which makes the photograph more interesting. • The background has leading lines that lead your eye toward the model. • The photograph is trying to communicate a sense of power. • There is a story behind the picture. It seems like she is a powerful woman (maybe forgotten civilization or something similar). • I selected this photograph because of the lighting and the story behind the picture.
Untitled #3 • Taken in 2011 during the 16 cycle of America’s Next Top Model. • There is natural lighting that is coming from behind the model. • The sun beams are used as leading lines to bring your eye toward the model, and it is used to illuminate the focus point. • The focus point is the model. • She is the main subject because she is in the foreground, and she is also the only subject in the photograph besides the background. • The lighting brings your eye toward the model, and the background adds a sense of mystery because it makes you wonder what the message of the picture is. • She is placed on a rule of thirds line. • The photograph is trying to communicate the message about how much we waste and how it destroys our world. • I selected this photograph because I thought that it was interesting.
Untitled #4 • Taken in 2008 during the 11 cycle of America’s Next Top Model. • The lighting used is natural and artificial. • There is natural because the photograph is taken and outside, and there is artificial because extra lights were used to illuminate the main subject. • The light is coming from the models right because the left side of her face is in shadows. • The main subject is the posing model. • I can tell because she is the only subject in the photograph. • The lighting illuminates the main subject, making it more obvious and interesting to the eye. • The water adds texture, mystery, and contrast. • The fog adds color, mystery, and texture. • The fog looks like it’s rolling towards the model, which leads your eye toward her. • The photographer is trying to create a sense of mystery. • There is no clear message or story in this photograph. • I selected this photograph because of the mystery and background. I also selected it because I found it interesting.
Untitled #5 • Taken in 2011 during the 16 cycle of America’s Next Top Model. • There is natural lighting used. • The lighting is coming from the right of the model. • The main subject of the photograph is the model. • She is the main subject because she is in the foreground and the only subject in this picture besides the background. • The garbage adds to the picture because it adds texture and it brings in your interest. • Her dress brings your eyes toward her. • The photographer is trying to show people how garbage and litering ruin our world. • There is no clear story behind this picture. • I selected this photograph because I thought that it was interesting.
