Geothermal energy is energy from deep into the earth’s surface. The geo in geothermal means the deepest part of earth. Also the thermal means heat energy. Also it comes from steam plants that use fluids that is mostly steam. The steam goes to the turbine which powers up the generator also it makes electricity. Examples of geothermal energy are hot springs and geysers. It is taken from earth with the help of geothermal heat pumps. What is geothermal energy?
Geothermal energy is renewable energy for any reasons. It is a renewable source of energy because it is a unlimited source of power, meaning that it will never run out. Geothermal energy can be used over and over again unlike non-renewable sources. Non-renewable sources such as fossil fuels are very limited and cannot be used often. Geothermal energy because the water is taken away from the rainfalls, and the heat is continuously produced by the earth. Also it is a form of renewable energy deprived from earth. Is Geothermal Energy Renewable or Non-Renewable?
A geothermal power plant works by tapping into steam on hot water reservoirs underground. The heat is used to drive an electrical generator. Hot steam and water are for moving the blades on the turbine. Which powers up the generator to make electricity. The hot water comes from the reservoirs. Then it turns into steam which starts the process to make electricity. HOW IS GEOTHERMAL ENERGY USED TO MAKE ELECTRICAL ENERGY?
It is a renewable source of energy • No pollution • No fuel is needed • Inexpensive • Relatively efficient • No acid rain • No global warning effects Advantages of Geothermal Energy
Big areas are needed • Suitable areas are required • Can’t transport geothermal energy • It can contain dangerous chemicals and gases such as hydrogen sulfide(smells like rotten eggs.) Disadvantages of Geothermal Energy
