Victimization? http://www5.lu.se/o.o.i.s/754 • Definition • With victimization is meant recurrent reprehensible or distinctly negative actions which are directed against individual employees and students in an offensive manner which may result in the employees being placed outside the workplace or study group community. • Examples are: • control of the employee without his knowledge • withholding work-related information • deliberately sabotaging or hampering the execution of work • exclusion or negligent treatment, disregarded, and making the employees invisible • slander and blacken the character of workers • insults directed against the person, hypercritical and negative reception • to unjustifiably remove or alter office or duties • Offensive actions and behavior also includes harassment based on gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, age, religion or belief.
KILU has zero tolerance against victimization What do you do if you experience or notice victimization? Talk to your supervisor/head of division/ director of studies/head of department…. Don’t wait! Document!

We are scientists: • We must get away from the ideal of the devoted scientist who puts his/her research above everything else. • An ordinary work-week is 40 hours (sometimes more, sometimes less). • During those 40 hours we should focus on our academic tasks. • But we should also have a life outside the Chemical Center. • We must strike a good balance!
