  1. An Introduction 11 March 2019

  2. Background • October 2015 – Present 2019 • ‘I thought you already did that’ – sharing records, and we do have a mish mash of sharing initiatives in Suffolk and North East Essex • Technology has progressed – although slowly • CRV, HIE, Cerner, HealtheIntent, • Understanding has progressed – however all the different sharing initiatives are difficult to communicate in isolation or together – this is unsustainable as a communications exercise • We are working to provide access to your GP information at the point of treatment • I think there might be a better way of paving the way for the digital transformation to come….

  3. What is My Care Record? • My Care Record is the overarching local programme which governs the way health and care organisations access patient information in Hertfordshire and West Essex • My Care Record is not about the technology – but about how we work together across health and care organisations • It is not a new ‘patient record’ but encompasses all the differing sharing initiatives across our patch and paves the way for when… • …Eventually we will have an electronic view of your record(s) than can be accessed locally when you need treatment from a clinician or professional – other than your GP – so they can make the right choices about your care and treatment

  4. What is My Care Record? • Until then we will continue to work with what is available, work within the bounds of current (GDPR) legislation, and support our health and care professions to deliver the best possible care • We have bid for funds to extend the brand WE&H CCG have created – the brand has been in existence for three years. • It’s not localised as a brand as other so called ‘shared care records’ are • West Essex and Herts border our STP patch of NEE and Suffolk. • We share organisations – EPUT, ECC etc. • This could make it borderless if extended into our whole East of England region • The bid also includes money for a full fair processing campaign for the public • Have a look at www.mycarerecord.org.uk • As the tech gets more joined up – the website will update • Anyone who doesn’t want their record shared will be able to opt-out, or object – easily

  5. What is My Care Record? • Ideally it is….. One window for you to look through If you want to To find out what sharing your record means For You
