VESL Immersion Project (VIP) • Funded by SF Department of Human Services (HSA) grant • Community based organization Arriba Juntos manages grant • CCSF provides VESL based on guaranteed attendance funding • Clients are CalWORKS and PAES recipients • Arriba Juntos is invoiced for enrollment below 25 per class
VIP: VESL + on-the-job training • PROGRAM FEATURES • VESL component includes computer literacy, job interview skills, • soft skills training as well as language development • Attendance is mandatory, as students receive public assistance • Managed enrollment • Individual performance review at midterm • Final evaluations
VESL Immersion Project (VIP) Job Placements for Fiscal 2012 33 TOTAL JOB PLACEMENTS The VESL Immersion Program includes students in CCSF Non-Credit ESL Levels 1-4. The above students were typically placed after one or more semesters in this program. Approximately 60 students participate in the program each semester. The VESL classes along with on-the-job training prepare the students for entry-level positions in a variety of fields.
