  1. Welcome to a small country in the Middle Europe

  2. Come to study to Prague 2014/15 Political, cultural and economic center of Europe and particularly eastern Europe for over eleven thousand years of its existence. Ideal place for getting an additional or advanced degree for your chosen career. Our institution could assist you in your career preparation and goals.

Charles University • Over42,400 studentsstudy at Charles University (approximately one fifth of all the students in the Czech Republic) in more than270 accredited academic programs. • 7,200 students are studying for bachelor degrees • 29,000 students are studying for master degrees • 6,200students are in Ph.D. programs. • There are more than4,300 international students, 950of which study in English language academic programs.

  4. First Faculty of Medicine One of the original four faculties of Charles University, established in 1348. First Faculty of Medicine with almost 1 200 staff members and 3 400 students represents the largest medical faculty in the Czech Republic. Provides undergraduate, graduate and professional programs of the highest academic quality, taught either in Czech or English.

What do we offer • Master study programs ofGeneral Medicine and Dentistry completely taught in English • Curriculum leading to the Master degree MUDr. - "Medicinae Universae Doctor" (M.D.) and MDDr. - "Medicinae Dentium Doctor" = Doctor of Dental Medicine • Degrees are fully recognized in the EU and most countries of the world, also recognized in UK and US(GM)

GENERAL MEDICINE 6 year program (1-3 pre-clinical years, 4-6 clinical years) Multiple-choice entrance exam from Chemistry, Biology and Physics (or Math) compulsory No specific requirements are needed from your high school Tuition fee 335 000 CZK per year (not covering living costs) Compulsory subject Czech language from 1st till 3rd year Leading to the Master degree MUDr. - "Medicinae Universae Doctor"

  7. DENTISTRY • 5 year program (1-3 pre-clinical years, 4-5 clinical years) • Multiple-choice entrance exam from Chemistry, Biology and Physics (or Math) compulsory • No specific requirements are needed from your high school • Tuition fee 380000 CZK per year (not covering living costs) • Compulsory subject Czech language from 1st till 3rd year • Leading to the Master degree MDDr. - "Medicinae Dentium Doctor" = Doctor of Dental Medicine

Recognition of high school education A student from abroad, wishing to study at our Faculty, will have to have provide a notarized (by Czech notary) and translated copy of high school diploma (translated to Czech language). We recommend you start this procedure as soon as you will know that you are accepted. This procedure must be applied for by both students who areEU nationals and Non-EU students Without this document can’t be student accepted

  9. How to apply ? IF YOU WANT TO DO THE EXAM IN PRAGUE • Go to our website http://www.lf1.cuni.cz/en, to section For Applicants and click on electronic application form • Fill the application and send the final PDF to stated e-mail address deadline 5.5.2014 • You will receive confirmation of acceptance your application form with relevant information to entrance exam (where, when) IF YOU WANT TO DO THE EXAM IN YOUR COUNTRY • Go to our website http://www.lf1.cuni.cz/en, to section For Applicants and visit part Contacts, where you will find list of faculty representatives • If you want to do the exam with our representative, contact him/her directly (it is not necessary to fill application form from our website) • Representative will provide you with details of the administration process

Filling of application form - procedure for Prague applicants https://is.cuni.cz/eng/studium/login.php?do=prihlaska Click on button “New applicant” You will see the tab “For foreigners without PID number“ and you will fill your personal data After you will fill the date of birth, sex and nationality, you will choose as faculty First faculty of medicine Then you fill the Type and form of study as full-time Master’s After it you will fill Study Field: you will choose General Medicine or Dentistry (it’s not possible to choose both and send two applications!) Then create application form, you will have to fill all compulsory fields You will save application and get the PDF, which you will send to mentioned e-mail.

  11. Test • You will pay 20 EUR in cash at the day of the test during your registration in Prague (do not pay the representative) • You will know the results of your test on the same day • On passing the test successfully, there will be a short informal interview with vice-dean • There is no negative marking • Sample questions can be found on our website http://www.lf1.cuni.cz/en/sample-questions?f=for-applicants

  12. What else we can offer ? Accommodation in dorms All 1st year students will be guaranteed a place of stay in university dormitories Sports Football, Basketball, Canoeing, Judo, Swimming, Volleyball, Cricket, Winter skiing course etc. Other Activities Festive matriculation, Spring Ball, actions with 1.LF MedSoc
