Computer Science 10 Weeks of CSE 3 By Lucas Gravell Presentation of Information with MS Powerpoint Desktop Publishing with MS Word Computational Thinking To become acquainted with PowerPoint, we used the MS Excel lab information to create a slide show to analyze the performance of stock and investments in a given year. In the second lab of the year we learned about file structures and advanced features of Microsoft Word. We then went on to work on a Calendar using HTML. CSE is a course dedicated to teaching the interworking's of computational machines. It Introduces the concepts and skills necessary to effectively use information technology. Including basic concepts and some practical skills with computer and networks. Dynamic Webpage Programming with JavaScript To learn the basics of JavaScript we completed a lab in which we created a webpage that acted as a smoothie place’s webpage, allowing customers to make orders and find out their prices. Data Analysis and Visualization with MS Excel In this lab we manipulated financial data using advanced spreadsheet skills with Microsoft Excel. Then we analyzed the performance of your career related stocks and investments with graphs and charts. Making Information Available to the World with HTML and Web Pages Visual Programming with Alice One of the first labs done this quarter was to create a basic homepage and put it up on line using html code and the SSH uploading program. This lab reinforced the basic principles of the class through the use of webpage creation. In order to learn Alice we created a short video of frogs having a conversation then jumping out of the way of a hawk as it swoops down to reach them. It was in the program that the foundations of JavaScript were also found.
