CGI-DIMAS Standards Integration • Trends: • Complementing “intrusive” data models with standard exchange formats. • Recognition that there is a need for standard simple international map specifications. • Increased importance placed on international vs national standards • Increased coordination between international groups to reduce duplicated effort. • Broad recognition of the problems caused by inconsistent geological terminology and the need for lexicons.
