  3. Who was Tutankhamun? Tutankhamun was a boy born in Egypt over 3000 years ago! He was born into a royal family and his father named Akhenaten was king of Egypt. Tutankhamun spent his childhood learning to read and write, but unlike you he attended school in a palace! Click on me to find Egypt

  6. Tutankhamun the Boy King • When Tutankhamun’s father died he became king of Egypt • He was only 9 years old! • As he was so young he had two high officials that made all his decisions for him. • They were called Ay. This is what Tutankhamun looked like as a boy.

  7. Tutankhamun married a girl called Ankhesenamun when he was 14 years old. She was his half sister! He was told to marry her because she was also part of the royal family. They had two daughters that died shortly after they were born. That’s Ankhesenamun his beautiful wife

  8. Tutankhamun’s death Tutankhamun died when he was 18 years old. No-one knows why he died at such at a young age. His body was mummified and placed in a gold coffin. He was buried in his own uniquely designed tomb. It is said his funeral lasted for 70 days.   9. The tomb The walls were painted with beautiful pictures. Jewellery and small statues were also placed in his tomb. His body was placed in 3 coffins, one of which was made from solid gold.   10. The discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb On the 4th of November 1922 a man named Howard Carter found a hidden entrance to Tutankhamun’s tomb. It took several weeks and many worked to uncover the tomb fully. This is a map of Tut’s tomb That’s a picture of Howard Carter

  13. The curse of the mummy It was said that there was a curse attached to Tutankhamun’s death………. ………anyone to enter his tomb would DIE!!! I’m scared lets get out of here!!

  14. Is the curse true? • Lord Carnarvon died • 7 weeks after he entered • the tomb. All the lights in Egypt were said to have gone out at the moment of his death. His dog also howled and died at the same time. Do you think the curse is true?
