I find it very interesting that God has us study this, and that we just ‘happen’ to be on the Psalms 83 description of a war that precedes the Gog Magog war. • And, that one of the players of this battle against Israel is Egypt. • Before we get into it, let’s take a look at God’s promise to Israel…

Zechariah 12:2 2 “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples(Amim); all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations (Goy) of the earth are gathered against it.

I know we are focused on Iran right now, but of greater importance is the war that has to take place prior to Israel engaging Iran fully…it involves Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, and a few other countries… This is the Psalms 83 war, that must take place prior to the Gog/Magog war. This is a sometimes missed, yet a very important end time prophecy, and most likely the next event to occur on the prophetic timeline!

  15. Conflicts in the News today that could open the door for this attack… Israel These two countries are part of the Psalms 83 war, and it is interesting that both have had their governments thrown into turmoil in the past few weeks….

The next event…. • Psa 83:2 For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves. • Psa 83:3 They make shrewd plans against Your people, And conspire together against Your treasured ones. • Psa 83:4 They have said, "Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more." • Psa 83:5 For they have conspired together with one mind; Against You they make a covenant: • Psa 83:6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites; • Psa 83:7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; • Psa 83:8 Assyria also has joined with them; They have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.

  17. Psalm 83 describes the same war as Isaiah 17 where some of the nearby nations attack Israel and are defeated (Psa 83:13-17=Isa 17:12-14). The important detail Psalm 83 offers (which Isaiah 17 lacks) is about the conspiracy among ten nations to “wipe Israel out as a nation to be remembered no more” (Ps 83:3-5). This alliance of these ten nations has never occurred in history, but will occur very soon…

Seven Wars attempting to destroy Israel • War of Independence 1948 • Attacked by Syria, Egypt, and Jordan. • Egypt Nationalizes Suez Canal (1956). • Egypt cuts off Israeli Access to Red Sea Ports. • Six Day War 1967 • Attacked by Syria, Egypt, and Jordan. • Yom Kippur War 1973 • Attacked by Syria and Egypt. • Gulf War I in 1990 • Israel is attacked by Iraqi Missiles. • South Lebanon War (2006). • Israel is attacked by Iranian Hizbullah. • NEXT – the Psalm 83 war • Attacked by Syria, Egypt, Palestinians, Lebanon, & parts of Jordan • This will be the hook that starts the Gog/Magog war of Ezekiel

  22. Some question if the Hagarites are indeed Egyptians.Gen 16:1 Now Sarai, Abram's wife had borne him no children, and she had an Egyptian maid whose name was Hagar. Today, both Arabs and Jews descended from Abraham. Some through Hagar and some through Sarah.

  23. Some say the Psalms 83 war already took place…Yes, a partial fulfillment may be in view in 2 Chron. 20 when Moab, Ammon, and parts of Edom invaded Judah during King Jehosophat’s reign (872-848 BC)

  24. But the Battle of 2 Chron. 20 doesn’t fully meet the requirements of Psalm 83, having many fewer antagonists, so on that basis we’ll assume its fulfillment is still in the future, perhaps the very near future. At this time, Jordan is the final hold out.

  25. King Abdullah II of Jordan has publicly stated that he thinks Jordan’s treaty with Israel is a mistake.  He has clearly been more critical of Israel lately, lobbying the US, Egypt, and others against the Jews.  Some observers believe he’s looking for a way to break the treaty.  If hostilities break out, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him supporting the attackers in some way, as Psalm 83 indicates.

  26. Moab (modern central Jordan)They are allies right now of Israel!Moab will also suffer destruction, but it will not be total. A remnant of Moab will return according to Jeremiah 48:47. Also, they are not part of the Gog/Magog war, as the rest of the Psalms 83 countries!

  27. EgyptIsaiah 19:1-22. Verses 1-10 reveal that because of her sins, Egypt will be characterized by civil war, desolation, and famine. Eze 29:14 "I will turn the fortunes of Egypt and make them return to the land of Pathros, to the land of their origin, and there they will be a lowly kingdom. Eze 29:15 "It will be the lowest of the kingdoms, and it will never again lift itself up above the nations. And I will make them so small that they will not rule over the nations. Eze 29:16 "And it will never again be the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing to mind the iniquity of their having turned to Egypt. Then they will know that I am the Lord GOD."'"

  28. EgyptUnderstandably, Egypt has developed a fear of Israel as prophesied in verses 16-17. This has come to pass only since 1948 and especially since the Six Day War . Prophetically, today is still the period described in Isaiah 19:16-17. Eventually, there will be total and lasting peace between Israel and Egypt, which in turn will give way to Egypt’s conversion in Isaiah 19:18-22.

  29. A fundamental change of government in Egypt may lead to a “revolution in Israel’s security doctrine,” a defense official told Ynet Friday night, as protests against President Hosni Mubarak’s rule continued to intensify.The security official made it clear that Israel’s peace treaty with Egypt constitutes an important strategic asset, “which enables the IDF to focus on other theaters.” The defense source said that the IDF would have to dedicate major resources in order to devote any attention to the Egyptian front as well.

  30. SyriaIsaiah 17:1 The burden against Damascus.“Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city,And it will be a ruinous heap.”Jeremiah 49:24-25"Damascus is waxed feeble, and turneth herself to flee, and fear hath seized on her: anguish and sorrows have taken her, as a woman in travail. How is the city of praise not left, the city of my joy!"

The World against IsraelSyria is organizing a summit of Arab nations to join together against Israel! <<Ez. 32:18+;38, Ps. 118:10+, Luke 21:20, 2 Chronicles 15:6; Isa 3:25-26; 8:21-22; 13:13; 29:3; Jer 20:4-5; 34:17; 52:4; Ezek 4:1-4; Dan 9:26-27; Hos 9:7; 14:1).The UN is against Israel. The US was the only member of the UN to not vote against them – we abstained!Zec 12:2 "Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. Zec 12:3 "It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.

  32. The world is polarizing into what the Bible said would happen in the last days.1. The Middle East would be a focal point.2. Arab nations would be together against Jerusalem.

  33. Why are we fighting Iraq? Why is there so much attention on the Middle East?

Cairo, Egypt: Arab foreign ministers from the 22 nation league of Arab nations, condemned the "aggression" against Iraq and called for the "immediate withdrawal" of US and British forces from the country, at the end of a meeting in Egypt's capital.They also condemned Israel and demand a Palestinian state.

  35. Today with riots in the streets of Cairo threatening to oust President Hosni Mubarak from his 30 year reign as Dictator of Egypt. The man that wants to replace him is the former head of I.A.E.A Mohamed ElBaradei who shielded the Iranian nuclear weapons programs for years. But looking over his shoulder is the Muslim Brotherhood connected to the Wahhabi out of Saudi Arabia who supplied the terrorist for 9/11.

  36. Israel has four borders, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Egypt and we could now say five if one considers Gaza. Our largest border is the Mediterranean Sea to the west but today even that is changing with the Prime Minister of Turkey making statements like if Syria is attacked by Israel they will not sit quiet that in fact they will defend Syria against Israel.

  37. It is no accident the the government of Lebanon just fell a few weeks ago, and now the government of Egypt as falling…What seemed to be the quiet takeover of Lebanon by Hezbollah may not be so quiet after all as riots are breaking out in the streets of Beirut as well as Egypt. Jordan is now being as quite as ever and fears the same will happen there.

  38. In the mean time Syria continues to move long range missiles into southern Lebanon in preparation for the coming war. As far as Egypt is concerned it may be the only thing that could save Mubarak at this time is joining a war against Israel

If you were able to take a survey in Egypt, Tunisia, Lebanon, Jordan or any Arab country you'd find that the average man on the streets believes that some how Israel is the reason for their suffering and that Israel must be destroyed.Why?God told us this would happen in the last days.That is what is being taught in the Mosques!

  40. What is the Arab agenda?Yesterday, a message was given at the most notable Mosque in the Middle East. In summary they said: Jihad must be waged until Israel and America are destroyed.

The Bible says the ‘Big Bear of the North’ will also be with these Arab nations…· Russian President discussed the worsening situation in the Mideast during a 40-minute phone call with the Syrian President on Sunday, the Kremlin press service said. The press service gave no details, saying only that they discussed the "drastic aggravation of the situation in recent days" in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and promised to continue developing ties between Moscow and Damascus. Russia is supporting Syria with arms and training.

  42. Syria Warned by the USDonald Rumsfield “ If Syria continues bringing guns and supplies to Iraq, we will consider it a hostile act, and those bringing the supplies combatants.”

  43. Syria is also threatening Israel and supporting the terrorists who are waging Jihad on them.Amos 1:3-5 States that Syria will come against Israel four times, and then will be made desolate. These occurred in: 1948 (1st) 1967(2nd) 1973(3rd) and the 4th appears that it could happen at any time!Damascus is the capital of Syria. It is the oldest perpetual city in the world! It is over 5000 years old!

Is. 17:1 States that Damascus will be taken away from being a city and become a ruinous heap - this has not happened yet, but will very soon!!Isa 17:3 "The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim, And sovereignty from Damascus And the remnant of Aram; They will be like the glory of the sons of Israel," Declares the LORD of hosts.

  45. In 1973, Israel came with 20 kilometers of Damascus - Russia stepped in and informed the world that if they continue, it willbe world war three. If Israel had destroyed Damascus then, this prophecy could not have been fulfilled!Additionally, Russia is backing Damascus - when Damascus attacks Israel again, it will be destroyed, and it will cause theprophecies in Ez. 38 and 39 to be fulfilled - Russia, the bear of the north along with Muslim nations will be forced to attack Israel, but God will intervene!

AP News ServiceISRAEL HEADS FOR WAR WITH SYRIATEL AVIV [MENL] -- Israel's military has been preparing for the increasing prospect of a war with Syria in a confrontation expected to include Iran and Hizbullah. With the destabilization of Lebanon and now Egypt, the world waits and watches as the Middle East is at a breaking point.The General Staff has discussed an assessment by the military's Northern Command of an emerging threat from Syria and Hizbullah over the next year. Northern Command said a weakened Syria, under pressure from the United States to withdraw from Lebanon, was likely to approve an Iranian-Hizbullah campaign against Israel. Military sources said this assessment was the latest by several senior officers who envision a major war with Syria by by the end of this year.

  47. Turkey has chimed in with Russia warning Israel.Israel’s largest border is the Mediterranean Sea to the west but today even that is changing with the Prime Minister of Turkey making statements like if Syria is attacked by Israel they will not sit quiet that in fact they will defend Syria against Israel.

  48. Israel warned Damascus it would go on the offensive against Syrian army positions in Lebanon if Hezbollah, the Syrian-backed Lebanese militia, launched attacks across the border. In addition to the warning to Damascus, the IDF has begun preparations for a "worst-case" outcome. Ten days ago, an armored division received an emergencyorder that moved it to the Golan Heights, on the border with Syria, to reinforce troops based there. Israel also placed its submarine flotilla on high alert. Military sources said three German-built submarines - the Tekuma, Dolphin and Leviathan -- hadstarted a 21-day shift in the Persian Gulf. The submarines are believed to be equipped with nuclear warheads, but would only come into play in the event of an all-out regional war, according to sources.
