‘Found’ Poems. Writing a poem from bits and bobs from here there and everywhere…. What is it?. The other day, my eyes fell on a random line from the book I was reading, and I thought it would make a good start to a poem… So I wrote it down… And then I did it again…. I beg your pardon….

  2. What is it? • The other day, my eyes fell on a random line from the book I was reading, and I thought it would make a good start to a poem… • So I wrote it down… • And then I did it again…

  3. I beg your pardon… • Get a book. • Shut your eyes. 3. Flick through the pages. 4. Bring your finger down blindly on a small string of words. 5. Write them down. 6. Repeat this process until you have a nice selection of interesting phrases. 7. Combine them to make a poem!

  4. Here’s one I made earlier… Two Blissful Weeks I saidIt had hurt because _______Part two He answered.Like him, I was half afraid. ______Part three But it had hurt becauseher glance simply impliedI would be alone.

  6. The Door to the Ward “Are you dead?” She flew out of the tree and over the rooftops. “Yes” I said, as he held me tight to keep me safe. “I was dreaming. I was sleepwalking.” Hundreds of tiny creases and cracks all over his pale face… a smell of dust. “Brilliant” I said.
