Qualifications and Hiring Requirements • Master’s degree in library science required • Subject master’s may be required or preferred • Experience may be required in place of a degree • Advanced degrees held or in progress: • Master’s – music, fine arts, Russian studies, international studies, communications • Ph.D. – chemistry, paleontology, history, political science, English literature, library science

  11. Education and Training after Hiring • Public Service Training Group (PSTG) – weekly sessions • Conference and workshop attendance • Academic classes • Certificate of Advanced Studies • Master’s or Ph.D.
