  2. Deception Involves 3 Things: 1. A fundamental distrust of God. 2. Basic disobedience. A rejection of the way of love toward others. We need to know it is our fault because we refuse to trust God, obey God, or walk in love toward each other.

  3. Process of my Deception: 1. Zeal w/o knowledge (Rom 10:3) 2. An angel of light (2 Cor 11:13-15) 3. Whispered in my ear (Jn 18:20) 4. Separated me from the flock 5. Prophesied to me (1 Cor 14:29) 6. Appealed to my ego (2 Cor 11:3)

  4. Process of my Deception: 7. Religious spirit appeal (Col 2:18-23) 8. Fed me false doctrine about himself 9. Enhanced his own authority by diminishing the church leadership’s authority (2 Pt 2:1, 10, 12) 10. He controlled my life (3 John 9-10)

  5. Three Forms of Deception: Self-deception. -something you do to yourself 2. Being deceived. -something others do to you 3. Deceiving others. -something you do to others
