Where I work, What I do? My Name’s Kim Phally • I am a Graphic Designer of Our Books Cambodia Organization that works to promote and share comics in Cambodia. • I am also a Freelance Photographer
Understanding Digital Cameras • Digital Camera has many important parts: - Camera Body- Camera Sensor- Lens- Aperture- Shutter Speed- ISO
Continue • Digital Camera has three kinds: - Digital Compact Camera (Full Auto)- Advance Digital Camera (Has M Mode)- DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflect) (Full Control)
Camera Body • Camera body makes by other parts like: • Body Case • Chips • Sensor • Other Necessary Parts
Camera Sensor • Sensor is device that convert optical image to electronic signal. • Most currently of Digital Camera is used • (CCD) charge-coupled device • (CMOS) complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor ‘active pixel sensors’.
Lens • Lens is eyes of EOS (Electro-Optical System) Camera and there are two kinds of lens: • EF Lens (For Full Frame and Crop Sensor) • EF-S Lens (For Crop Sensor only) • Wide Angle Lenses / Zoom (Use to shoot landscape and wide field) • Telephoto Lenses / Zoom (Use to shoot wildlife, some time for portrait) • Macro Lens (Macro Photos)

Aperture / F-Stop (Av) • Aperture is device allows the light from out side go into the lens and to Camera Sensor. • Aperture allows to do Sharp or Depth of field.
Shutter Speed (Tv) • Shutter Speed / Exposure time: the time that Camera’s shutter is opened taking photo, it controls the duration of the exposure. • The length of S: 1/1000 s, 1/500 s, 1/250 s, 1/125 s, 1/60 s, 1/30 s, 1/15 s, 1/8 s, 1/4 s, 1/2 s, 1 s, 15 s, 30 s and Standard S (1/60 s, 1/125 s, 1/250 s). 15 s – 30 s 1/30 s
ISO • ISO allows to get more or less amount of light. • If you use high ISO, your image will get more noise. ISO 100 ISO 1600
