  2. FFE Overview • Founded by Prabhu and Poonam Goel • Awarded 23,260 scholarships : $4.992 million • Supported 9,725 students in 25 Indian states • 40% FFE scholars are female • 2,818 scholars have graduated • Huge multiplier effect on society

  3. Eligibility for Scholarship • Academic excellence • Top 15% of their class • Family income • Less than $180/month, $6/day • Often the first in the family to have access to higher education

  4. Giving to FFE • 600+ donors in US; 500+ in India – most of them ex FFE scholars • No donor overheads; 100% of donation goes to scholars • Can select scholar based on state, gender, school or course of study

  5. Regional Initiatives • FFE-Bay Area Uttaranchalis Program • Launched in April 2006 • $45,000 raised in 2006 and 2007 • 214 scholarships awarded • FFE-Gujarat Diaspora program • Launched in 2007; $60,000 raised in 2007 • 247 scholarships awarded
