Historical Legislation Regarding Sentence Credits AB 510 • Made offenders convicted of certain category C, D or E felonies (that do not involve violence, a sexual offense or a DUI that caused death) eligible to receive increased overall monthly earning time as well as increased amount of good time awarded for all education, vocations training and substance abuse treatment programs completed while incarcerated. • Credits for offenders in qualifying categories will be deducted from the minimum term imposed by the sentence until the offender becomes eligible for parole and from the maximum term imposed by the sentence. • Effective July 2007

Historical Legislation Regarding Sentence Credits: AB 136 AB 136 • Would allow certain category B felonies to earn credits to reduce their sentences, thereby allowing for an earlier release from prison. • The bill would extend credits currently available to C,D, and E felons to certain B felon offenders with the exception of repeat offenders and offenders guilty of violent crimes or sexual assault. • Vetoed by Governor Sandoval June 2011
