The Library’s Changing Role in the Evidence-Based Medical CurriculumBy Emily BrennanUniversity of Southern California, Norris Medical Library, Educational and Research Services • Successes • Increased collaboration between the librarian and medical faculty • Have reminded students of the librarian’s active role in their education • Rejuvenated the librarian herself by encouraging her to refocus her attention on increasing her knowledge of advanced EBM concepts and improving her instruction techniques • Challenges • Constantly evolving curriculum • Lack of communication between EBM instructors • Difficult for library sessions to build upon one another because of amount of time between sessions
