Facilitated Brainstorming • to determine the purpose, plan, process for situation analysis work • to produce raw data or information on stakeholders, dynamics, political context etc. • to decide upon which tools will be used to add further value to that raw data • to determine who will do what, when (including any commissioned work)

  6. Deliberative Techniques • Virtual models. Emails of focus prompts; Delphi technique to govern subsequent refining of input. Concept Mapping also useful. • Expert Witness Panels. To involve people with very specific input/advice as part of deliberative process. • Visualization in Participatory Planning. Uses cards, diagrams, photographs to amplify individual voice and arrive at consensus. • Chatham House Rule. Deliberations off the record; individuals speak without institutional affiliation.
