  2. Long term Goals Adapting modern methods of teaching, so that students can not only easily adapt to different dimensions of Urdu such as ‘Nazms’ in the present but also in the future. Enhancing student Vocabulary so that they can easily understand complicated ‘Nazms’ and ‘Shayari’, that they are going to come across in the near future. Preparing children for reading and writing skills.

  3. Short term Goals • Using Simple Language to explain meanings from ‘Nazms’, so that the lesson is crystal clear to each and every student in the class. • Reading out ‘Nazms’ in such a enticing manner that students start to grasp the concept of it, and adapt to it easily. • Being friendly in the class, and making my questioning strategy simple, so that children feel free and confident to ask questions.

  4. Instructional Strategies & Tasks • Providing more and more opportunities for students to answer questions, so that thinking skills can be improved. • Providing students with time for group discussion, so that a collaborative effort can be made to understand the ‘Nazms’. • I will allow students to raise their hands and ask questions between the teaching process, as young students come across ambiguous words in ‘Nazms’ and they tend to forget the when the lesson ends. Hence I will allow students to ask questions spontaneously so their questions don’t remain unanswered.

  5. Solutions to Anticipated Challenges • Challenges • Students facing difficulty in keeping up with the teacher. • Students facing difficulty in adapting to the concept of Nazms such as ‘Aao Mil kar Pair Lagayain’ • Solutions • Applying a new approach to teaching, and devising a Q & A session everying 15 minutes, so that performance of the lesson being taught can be judged. • Explaining to students the concept of ‘Nazms’ gradually and not applying a hardliner to just achieve goals

  6. Timeline Explaining the whole ‘Nazm’ to students within a timeline of 50 minutes. While also conducting a short Q & A session after every 15 minutes as mentioned in the slide ‘Solutions to Anticipated Challenges’ Allow students to take a look at the lesson ‘Nazm’ for 10 minutes, so that they can try to grasp the concept of ‘Nazms’ by themselves as well. Conducting a final ‘Question and Answer’ Session to see what the students have learnt from the lesson.

  7. Resources • Fellow teachers teaching the same Curriculum can aide during such lessons. • Urdu Grammar books that that devise strategies to break down ‘Nazms’ into smaller pieces, so that they can be easily explained to students.

  8. Conclusion Urdu ‘Nazms’ are great for students of young age, as they are fun to learn and adapt to, and students find them very interesting if the teacher is teaching the lesson in a very friendly and collaborative manner. Lastly, the teachers should keep in mind that if at this young age students will be taught well about the concept of ‘Nazms’, in the future they will develop a better understanding of it and will also have a great impact on their writing skills associated with ‘Nazms’
